Description - Success Lake and dam is a multipurpose facility built to provide flood control and irrigation. Management of public land and water for wildlife and recreation has provided many opportunities for outdoor activities. Construction of the earth-filled dam was completed in 1961. It spans 3,490 feet across the Tule River and is 142 feet high. When full, the lake holds 82,000 acre feet of water with a surface area of 2,450 acres.

Park Headquarters: This is a day use area that receives less than 2,000 visitors annually. This small park headquarters site at Success Lake has limited attractions. Two parking lots provide space for 30 cars. Well water and toilet provided. An interpretive trail is on-site.
Rocky Hill: This day use area is popular with picnickers. There are 8 picnic sites and enough parking for 50 cars / trailers. Well water and toilets provided. Additionally, 1 launch ramp (2 lanes), a courtesy dock and a fish cleaning station are provided.
Tule: Available for both day use and camping opportunities. Water, toilets, 6 picnic sites, and 2 parking lots provide parking for 125 cars / trailers. Year-round camping is provided at 104 sites. Additionally, 2 launch ramp (4 lanes), and 2 courtesy docks are provided.
Vista Point: This day use facility is void of both water and toilet facility. There is enough parking for 25 cars.
Wildlife Area: Day use site with well water, toilet facilities.
Recreation - Water sports, camping, fishing, boating, and picnicking are main attractions of Success Lake. Horseback riding, hunting, use of recreational vehicles, and wildlife viewing are also available.
Climate - A generally warm, dry climate prevails in the Central Valley. Weather is normally hot in the summer and mild in the winter. Precipitation in the Central Valley falls mainly from October through April in the form of rain. Winter temperatures below freezing produce frost, however, snow is very rare. The foggy season is November through February. The fog usually burns off by mid-day. From March through October the sun shines 90 percent of the time. Daytime summer temperatures above 100 degrees are part of the normal pattern.
